Manby 09 – Press Coverage : Stefan Pracht and Dan Fabb

leave a comment »

Stefan and Dan took part at the 90 degrees challenge @ Manby a few weeks ago. Despite they rolled the car and couldn’t finish the event, they still became 5th!!

A quote from the article:

“…if there had been a prize for the most spectacular competitor and the spectators’ favourite, it would have gone to Stefan Pracht, who finished fifth. Stefan’s truck is is on the extreme side of challenge truck builds. With almost tractor tyres it made easy work of most of the sections, but Stefan managed a spectacular rollover in the arena. He was also the only vehicle I saw driving the Manby Mud run without stopping!”

“Stefan Pracht’s extreme challenge truck was a big hit with the crowds and the most spectacular”

Toyota 80 Series gets some mods

with 2 comments

D&G 4×4 Tuning is not only specialized in custom made trucks, we also can help you with many other service such as overland and rally preparation.

This Toyota 80 Series gets some modifications before it takes part at the Rally of the Pharao’s!!

To get a much better handling at speed, the toyota gets Fox shox with remote reservoirs with King Spring coils. As braking is at least as important as handling, some DBA vented disc brakes are mounted too.

The most important safety measure when you want to take part in speed races / rally’s is off course a rollcage. For this Toyota we have choosen to use a bolt on Safety Devices rollcage which is FIA approved.

To get more grip and traction in the dunes, you will have to let down the tyre pressure. To be able to do this without having the risk to pop a bead, we have installed the Staun Internal Beadlocks in the Performance TX wheels.

A quick update on the Humbug!

As you can see in below pictures, the suspension is now installed. The Humbug will have 2″ coilovers and bypass shocks all round which will make the truck very stable on speed sections but still has a lot of wheel travel for technical stages!

The dashboard starts to take shape as well, like most of the trucks built by D&G 4×4 Tuning, the Humbug will get marine spec switches, fuses etc which are all mounted in a waterproof box!

More updates will follow very soon!

The new “Humbug” with Portal Spidertrax Spider 9 axles!

leave a comment »

Discover this all new D&G 4×4 Tuning project called the “Humbug”!

This buggy with a Twisted Customs base chassis will again be completely different from what we have done in the past. This LS powered buggy will be running Spidertrax Spider 9 axles combined with the all new and home made D&G 4×4 Tuning Portal Boxes which give an additional 12 cm’s extra ground clearance!

As you can see in the pictures, the roof of the Humbug is higher (8 inches in total) than standard buggies, although the chassis height remains the same, thanks to the lifted chassis rails at the front!  The cage is also built to meet the MSA regulations!

More updates on this built will follow soon!
